Fall is coming

What: First Fall meeting

Time: 10 AM to noon

Place: St. Johns County Public Library, Southeast branch

Yes, it's getting to be that time of year again. Our first kick-off meeting of the fall is almost here. We'll be meeting once again at the St. Johns County Public Library southeast branch located at 6670 US Route 1 south, St. Augustine, a very easy hop from exit 305 off I-95.

Our guest speaker will be Stefan Lohrer, Sales Manager for Creative Art Materials and Rep for Caran d'Ache. Stefan has worked for Caran d'Ache for over 25 years.

Our president Lyn Asselta says about them: "I can certainly vouch for Caran d'Ache's Pastel Cubes!! Their hard pastels are incredible and the colors are absolutely gorgeous. I'd be lost without them!"

So we hope to see you there. It's in a beautiful location too - near the beach, near Fort Matanzas. Maybe take some time to check out those areas too and get your juices flowing for plein air in the fall. And maybe some folks would like to stay and have lunch together afterwards.

Our first fall plein air date, on October 6, will be held at Camp Chowenwaw, off route 17 in Clay County. Stay tuned here for more details.

Michael Chesley Johnson workshop is full

Hello fellow dusty ones. We all hope you've been having a great summer, and we look forward to starting off the fall season shortly. One of the upcoming highlights of the fall is the three-day workshop with Michael Chesley Johnson which is coming up this October 21-23.

Those of you who have signed up should have a wonderful experience. Alas, if you have not signed up, the workshop is now full. In order to be able to give all students enough attention Michael limits the number of students he will take, and we had enough people who wanted to work with him.

So from now on the Paypal button can be used only for paying the balance of the payment owed for the workshop. But stay tuned here for other upcoming events and workshops!
