Alpine Groves this weekend

What:    Alpine Groves Plein Air
Where:  Route 13, Switzerland, FL (east side of St. Johns River)
When:   Saturday, October 5, 9 AM to 1 PM

Let's hope for good weather this Saturday! It's our first plein air event of the fall season at beautiful Alpine Groves Park.

Shaded walkways and hiking paths meander through the park.

Beautiful sun and skies if you are there at the right time.

A long fishing pier out over the river lets you look back at the beautiful shoreline.

An old homestead lends architectural interest for some.

Please come out and join us. Don't forget a picnic lunch for our communal meal and show-and-tell after our morning of painting.

Our new season - Kevin Arthur's Demo

Our new season kicked off with a great demo from Kevin Arthur.

We had a nice turnout and everyone certainly enjoyed seeing what Kevin had to offer.

Our model for the demo was none other than our own President, Carron Wedlund.

In the amount of time available Kevin did an amazing job.

I think we can all agree that it's a wonderful likeness - definitely one of Kevin's great talents.
We hope everyone there enjoyed seeing Kevin do a demo, and enjoyed catching up with everyone after our summer break.

We're headed into cooler weather now I hope, and let's keep our fingers crossed for our upcoming first plein air:

Please get your information to Janelle as soon as you have selected your pieces. Deadline for entry is September 27

Importance of Composition
Composition is how we see information. It influences the relationships we see between objects, perceptions of complexity, and affects our desire to engage with content. Learning composition as a visual designer will allow you to make information appear in ways that convey different meanings, or leave different impressions, like sophistication, affluence, cleverness, or strangeness.
